Guess who is getting sensitive to pressure!?!?!?! She travels around bent at the poll and I don't have to have measurable pressure on her poll to get her to walk forward or put her head down.
Today we skipped ahead. It was a very pretty morning with storms rolling in during the afternoon. I was worried about the rain coming so I decided to work her. I wish we had the camera crew out there! It was a perfect morning. We worked on her circles, feet, and backing and then stepped out of the roundpen.
She was nervous at first but once she realized the same rules applied she was better than most of the horses at the farm. She lead, stopped by my shoulder, walked through gates like a pro, ignored other horses, etc. We even took a trip into the barn. She was nervous with the light change but followed me quietly.
She did so well I turned her out into a small paddock on her own. While I was bringing water over and fresh hay I would go into the paddock and "catch her". I would walk over to her and have her stand still while I would rub her shoulder/neck then walk away. She got to where she would walk over to me and offer me her face.
It was a GREAT day.
